Visa Extension Procedures
Three types of visa extension:
1. The three months visa extension:
Necessary documents:

Valid
passport
-
Blood test
result (from chest diseases center in Gardenz area, opposite
the Arab College).

Lease from
your landlord or a paper from your hostel if you are staying in a hostel.

Student
proof of registration (Registration Dept., second floor, office
number 3)

3. The one year extension.
You should make the one year visa extension if you are planning to stay in
Jordan to study for one year.
Necessary documents:
-
Approval from the Ministry of Interior
-
Students
proof of registration
-
A paper
from the international students advisor to Deanship of Students Affairs
(needs one working day to be ready).

A letter from the Deanship of Students Affairs on campus
(check map) addressed to
Ministry of Interior( two copies).

Two passport photos
-
Photocopy of passport (information page, validity, entrance stamp page,
residence localization stamp. Make more than a copy because you will need
them later).

Blood
test result.
Walkthrough:
-
Take the paper from the
Deanship of students’ affairs (Ministry’s copy) and student’s proof of
registration to Ministry of Interior and there you will fill an application
form. They will give you a number for an appointment (you have to come back
in two weeks time).

After the two weeks, go to the
Ministry to get the approval. Make a copy.

Take the second copy from the
letter from the Deanship, approval from the Ministry and photocopies of
passport to the Borders and Residence Dept. (if you have penalties, you pay
them at the Residence Department. Students may be exempted from paying the
fine in certain cases). At the Dept. they will stamp on your passport the
approval.

Get a paper from a hostel if
you are staying in one stating that you live there or the apartment lease if
you are staying in an apartment. With the photocopies from your passport, go
to Al Rasheed police station if you are staying near the University area or
otherwise go to the nearest police station to the place you live. You must
have your blood test result with you and a photocopy of the approval from
the Ministry of Interior.

Go to Al Hussein Police station
in Jabal Hussein Area. Take a photocopy of all the stamps on your passport.
Fill an application form for free. Present to them two personal photos, the
original paper of approval from the Ministry of Interior, Blood test result
and they will ask you to come after one week to collect your residence card.
