Q. Where is the Language Center
located?
A. The University is located in the
northwestern part of the vibrant and beautiful city of Amman, 10 kms
from the city center, on the highway connecting Amman with Suweileh,
called Queen Rania Road. The Language Center is located in the heart of
the northern part of University campus next to the Faculty of Arts, left
of the Clock Tower upon your entrance from the main gate.

Teacher Training:
LC’s greatest asset
is its teaching staff. Over the past eight years, intensive seminars,
workshops peer sessions focusing on class management, teacher-student
relations, language skills, communication skills, testing and other
crucial matters have been held. Instruction at LC is student-centered.
Our Own Text Books:
The Center is a pioneer both in the
country and region in authoring its own books for its own students. All
students of English and Arabic communication skills use books which have
been written and prepared by the Center. The same applies to students
enrolled in the ASOL program. Presently, the Center is about to finish
authoring books for the six levels of Arabic for speakers of other
languages.

Q. Who may apply for the Arabic for
speakers of other languages program?
A. Everyone above 16 and under 65 years
of age interested in learning Arabic from Jordan and abroad.

Q. How many levels are there for
Arabic?
A. There are six levels of Arabic,
though if sufficient number of students is available other higher levels
will be offered.

Q. How can I apply for the ASOL course?
A.
Students interested in joining the ASOL program will have to fill out an application form. Students may
mail the application to the Language Center or fill out the online
application or download it from the site.

Q. What are the periods of study?
A. Fall Semester: 16 weeks (early October
to late January)
Spring Semester: 16 weeks (Mid February
to early June)
Summer Session: 8 weeks (late June to late August)

Q. How shall I know my appropriate
level?
A. There will be a placement test for
all students who have previous knowledge of Arabic. Those who don't know
Arabic will join level one. They may not sit for the test.

Q. Where to pay the fees?
A. 20 USD will be paid at Cairo Amman
Bank and the 750/500 JD to be paid at the financial Dep. In cash only.

Q. Can I pay by credit card?
A. Till now the only way to pay the
fees is in cash money. Credit cards are not acceptable.

Q. Once I pay the fees, can I get a
refund?
A. Once the fees are paid there will be
no refund.

Q. When do you offer Arabic courses?
A. The Language center offers Arabic
courses throughout the year. Fall, spring and summer courses. The fall
or spring courses last for four months each, the summer course lasts for
two months. Please refer to the calendar to know the start and end dates
of each semester.

Q. Do I get a certificate at the end of
the course?
A. You will only get a certificate
indicating your level achieved, your grade and period of study at the
end of the term if you oblige to the regulations of the Center including
attendance and exams.

Q. If I face any problems or
difficulties who shall I talk to?
A.
Please try first to resolve the matter with your instructors, if not
possible, Mr. Tawfiq Omar, your advisor, will help in every
possible
way don’t hesitate to talk to him.
